North Korea to attend Belt and Road summit in Beijing: China

Attendance expected despite ongoing sanctions and cooling relations

A delegation from North Korea will be attending a summit for China’s "One Belt One Road" (OBOR) initiative in Beijing next week, according to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.

Geng Shuang, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, fielded three questions relating to the summit - which runs from May 14 to May 15 - and confirmed the expectation that the DPRK would send representatives.
