North Korea develops rain-inducing “cloud seeding” rockets

Weather modification technology could be used to mitigate bad droughts

North Korean researchers have developed a computer-based system to create artificial rain through the use of rockets, state-run outlet Arirang-Meari reported on Wednesday.

The technique, known as cloud seeding, is a form of weather modification and is frequently used by countries such as China and the U.S. to ease droughts.
