India bans trade in military equipment with North Korea

Announcement come 11 years after UN resolution 1718

India has officially banned trade in military goods, including tanks, armored vehicles and combat aircraft with North Korea, according to a notice from the country’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) published on Tuesday.

The move appears to be almost 11 years late, with paragraph 8 of Resolution 1718 having banned the export of most military hardware to the DPRK in 2006.
