N. Korea maintaining assets at KIC: satellite imagery

DPRK officials are keeping vehicles in good condition, may be preparing for complex reopening

Satellite imagery acquired by NK PRO shows that the Kaesong Industrial Complex (KIC), closed by South Korea a year ago, remains almost identical to when South Korean workers left the compound, contrary to past claims by North Korea that it had liquidated all assets in the area.

In-depth analysis of each zone of the KIC shows that since last year’s closure, North Korean authorities have worked to preserve its assets, hinting that Pyongyang may be keeping open the option of reopening the complex in the future, three former KIC officials and an expert said.
