N. Korean ambassador in Malaysia calls for release of “innocent suspects”

Chol Kang says Malaysia is unfairly targeting North Koreans in investigation

North Korea's ambassador to Malaysia has called on police to release three suspects currently being held for questioning about last week's death of Kim Jong Nam, a statement given to press by the ambassador's office said on Wednesday afternoon.

In a three-page written statement, Ambassador Chol Kang accused the Malaysian authorities of having "targeted and pinned suspicion on the DPRK citizens from the first step" of their investigation.
