European Court of Human Rights will investigate case of detained N.Korean in Russia

MoU says it will push Russian govt to stop repatriation of Choe Myong Bok

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has decided to intervene in the repatriation of a North Korean worker who escaped from his workplace in Russia over ten years ago, a Moscow-based non-governmental organization (NGO) told NK News on Tuesday.

Human rights activists in Saint Petersburg requested the help of the ECHR on Monday, in response to the court of Vsevolozhsky District's decision on January 31 to deport the North Korean worker. The ECHR responded on Monday that it would assist in the case.
