Swiss government confirms it is aware of Ambassador's expulsion from Zimbabwe for ivory smuggling

Switzerland has accepted North Korea's Ambassadorial appointment to the country, despite his apparent expulsion from Zimbabwe in 1992 due to his involvement in illegal ivory smuggling, the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) confirmed to NK News on Friday.

North Korean state media reported that Han Tae Song been appointed as DPRK ambassador to Switzerland on Friday, following a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA).
