South Korea’s MND to meet incoming U.S. Secretary of Defense

UPDATE, 0900, January 26, Seoul Time: U.S. Department of Defense confirmed Secretary of Defense James Mattis’s visit to Korea and Japan. Departing on February 1st, Secretary Mattis will meet with ROK Defense Minister Han Min-koo and other senior ROK officials. 

The ROK Defense Ministry (MND) is in discussions with the U.S. to meet recently appointed U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis “as soon as possible,” a ministry official told NK News on Wednesday.

The details of the proposed meeting have yet to be released, the official said.
