A total of 3,378 South Koreans registered for reunions with family members separated by the Korean War passed away in 2016, according to data published by the Ministry of Unification (MoU) in January.
During the last 12 months the registration list also saw 335 new additions, leaving 62,631 people remaining compared to 65,674 at the beginning of 2016.
