South Korea launches joint policing operation in Han River

Operation to last until illegal fishing boats in the region disappear, MND says

South Korea and the United Nations Command (UNC) launched a joint policing operation – the second of the year – at the Han river estuary on Thursday, Seoul's Ministry of National Defense (MND) told NK News.

The action is aimed at preventing and repelling illegal fishing boat activity at the river estuary, which violates the July 1953 armistice with North Korea.
