Mexican govt to take control of N. Korean ship in coming months

The abandoned vessel has been in a Mexican port for over two years

A North Korean vessel which crashed into a Mexican reef in 2014 will be officially owned by the Mexican government in a few months, according to local media.

The Mu Du Bong has been held in the Mexican port of Tuxpan on the country’s east coast for over two years. Shortly after its accident the ship’s owner, Ocean Maritime Management (OMM), was sanctioned by the UN and U.S. Treasury Department for its role in smuggling weapons through the Panama Canal.
