Around 2000 villagers from Seongju County, the location recently designated as the site for the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system deployment, held a rally in Seoul on Thursday.

Compared to an earlier protest in Seongju County, which ended with South Korean Prime Minister surrounded by protesters for six-hours, the rally remained peaceful with clearer, more focused messages.

“As for now, there will be no attempts for bargaining with the government regarding the deployment, except the complete withdrawal of the system,” Seok Hyun-cheol, the policy advisor from the ‘Struggle committee against THAAD deployment in Seongju,’ told NK News.
