The Ministry of Unification (MoU) on Tuesday confirmed a story from New Focus International published yesterday that more North Korean restaurant workers are in the process of defecting to the South.

Three defectors are thought to have left from a North Korean restaurant in Shanghai and safely moved to a third country, South Korean media reported.

“It is true,” an unnamed official told NK News via text message. “But please bear in mind that we cannot confirm their current status,” the source added.
