N.Korea responds to sanctions with ‘self-sustainability’

North Korean media writes ‘self-sustainability’ more than 150 times in one daily paper

North Korea responded to new U.S. sanctions by peppering Tuesday's edition of the state-run newspaper with over 150 references to "self-sustainability."

The North began using the term jagangryeok (self-sustainability) shortly after Kim Jong Un first mentioned it in his New Years Address. But the frequency of the term in today's Rodong Shinmun is unprecedented.
