Pyongyang introduces rose-themed luxury spa

New amenities symbolize Pyongyang’s expanded home market, 'capitalistic ways,' says researcher

North Korea’s state website DPRK Today on Tuesday introduced Jangmiwon, a newly opened rose-themed luxury spa in Pyongyang. According to the description, customers can bathe in rose-water, drink rose-beverages and even enjoy rose-spice flavored food inside the facility.

Jangmiwon, which can be roughly translated as "rose-spa" or "rose-center," has a dry sauna, steam sauna, public bath filled with rose-water, barbershop, gym, table tennis room, beauty salon, massage parlor, restaurants and many other modern amenities.
