S. Korea asks journalists to stop describing loudspeakers as ‘propaganda’

Journalists criticize South Korean governments interference in work, highlight definition of 'propaganda'

Journalists should stop referring to loudspeaker broadcasts aimed at North Korea as "propaganda," South Korea's Ministry of National Defense requested on Tuesday.

The bulletin, which provoked widespread negative reaction from foreign Korea-correspondents, came as broadcasts using the speakers stopped following marathon inter-Korean talks which Tuesday.
