NGOs, businesses calling for cancellation of May 24 sanctions

Business people who invested in North Korea are under economic hardship, religious people, relief activists commonly asking for resuming inter-Korean exchanges

Nine NGOs joined a number of persons interested in inter-Korean exchanges to appeal for a resumption of trade and cancellation of the May 24 Measures at a press conference in Seoul on Thursday.

The Citizens' Coalition for Economic Justice, the Mount Kumgang Entrepreneurs' Association, Okedongmu Children in Korea (OKCK), the Korean Sharing Movement and Cheondogyo – one of Korea’s traditional religions – were among those signing the joint statement calling for inter-Korea economic cooperation.
