Amid Korea tensions, cultural exchanges between South, North continue

Kaesong excavation project is continuing, soccer competition has finished as planned; no irregular situation in KIC

Despite high tensions between the two Koreas, cultural exchange projects and activities at the Kaesong Industrial Complex are operating as usual.

An ongoing joint excavation project at Kaesong Manwoldae – the site of the Koryo dynasty palace – is continuing without a hitch. The project, in which historians from South and North investigate the site together, started in June and will continue for six months, a particularly long period for a collaborative initiative.
