Orchestra, ministry send conflicting signals on inter-Korean concert

Lindenbaum claims approval granted for August 15 concert, MND says otherwise, calling JSA an unsuitable venue

The Lindenbaum Orchestra said that it received permission for a concert at the Joint Security Area (JSA) on the evening of August 15, the 70th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonization.

According to South Korea's Yonhap News Agency, the concert, entitled the “South-North Korea Joint Peace Concert” was approved by the United Nations Command, the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission at Panmunjeom and the Ministry of Defense on the condition of North Korea's participation.
