Japan admits Koreans forced to work on UNESCO candidate sites

News comes as N. Korea misses deadline for providing Tokyo with information on abductees

Japan on Sunday admitted Koreans were forced to work in sites now nominated for consideration as UNESCO World Heritage sites, a long-running point of contention for North Korea.

The admission came at a meeting of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Germany.
