Document shows N. Korea’s plan to lure Wonsan-Kumgang investment

Regime intends to improve tourism infrastructure; past investors skeptical about prospects

Specific plans to develop the Wonsan-Mount Kumgang district have been revealed, with NK News acquiring the original version of two documents, published by Wonsan Area Development Corporation, used for the DPRK’s official presentation to attract foreign investment.

The two documents were written based on a decree from the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People’s Assembly on June 2014. The documents were used at the presentation in Liaoning, China last March, and are expected to be used at the upcoming presentation in Wonsan on May 27.
