N. Korea’s spy crackdown makes Dandong’s shopping streets slack: report

North Koreans reluctant to visit Korean stores for fear of coming under espionage suspicions

Korean shopping in the streets in Dandong, China, has been slack since two South Korean nationals were detained on charges of espionage, Radio Free Asia reported.

Fearful of being suspected of espionage, North Korean workers and resident employees are reluctant to visit shops run by South Koreans, or even those regularly visited by South Koreans, the report said.
