Sudden gas price plunge bedevils N. Korean merchants

Markets show overnight drop, despite gradual decline in international markets

Gasoline prices in North Korea have fallen, in keeping with the recent trend in global markets, Radio Asia Free (RFA) reported on February 11.

According to the report, a resident in Ryanggang province said that near Pyongyang , “the price of gasoline has dropped by more than half, thus merchants are very embarrassed since they don’t know the reason for this decrease.”
