Shin says activism will continue despite controversy

Book about defector's story will remain mostly unchanged, receive new foreword

The famous defector-activist who admitted changing his story about a North Korean gulag said Sunday that he will carry on with his activism, and the best-selling book based on his story will get a new edition.

"One of the biggest mistakes I've ever made was hiding the details of my dreadful past from you all and keeping parts of it a secret from the world," Shin Dong-hyuk said in his Facebook post.
