Pyongyang's traffic officers have long attracted foreign attention and are often viewed as a must-see for tourists making their first visit to the North Korean capital.

Despite professional obligations shifting since the introduction of traffic lights in 2009, the traffic officers can still be found at many Pyongyang junctions, in some cases actually manually operating nearby electronic traffic light systems.
