North Korea slams U.S. landmine ban exemption on Peninsula

State media reacts to announcement that landmines will remain along DMZ

North Korea has slammed a U.S. commitment to no longer use anti-personnel landmines (APM) and to destroy all of its existing stockpiles, except in the case of the Korean Peninsula.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), providing a synopsis of an article in a North Korean weekend periodical, blasted the move calling it an attempt by the U.S. to smear the DPRK.
