North Korea expands anti-Ebola measures beyond tourism

More preventative measures rolled out, negative impacts emerging

North Korean authorities are continuing to adopt more stringent measures to prevent the Ebola virus from entering DPRK territory, expanding restrictions to also limit parts of the domestic community from foreign travel.

Choson Exchange, a not-for-profit which often provides educational training to North Korean students overseas, reported Monday that its participants had been prevented from leaving North Korean territory, adding to a tourist ban which so far only prevented inbound visitors to the DPRK.
