Curtis Scaparrotti, commanding general of United States Forces Korea (USFK), believes that North Korea has the technical capability to miniaturize a nuclear weapon so that it could be used as a warhead.
Scaparrotti told reporters this at a press briefing at the Pentagon –headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense – on Friday though there has not yet been any clear proof of this capability. The general, who commands U.S. military forces stationed in South Korea – more than 28,000 troops – said that while Pyongyang hasn’t definitively done so yet, they probably do have the technical capability to miniaturize a nuclear weapon, which would allow them to eventually launch one via a missile.
