After building collapse, N. Korea develops concrete acceleration agent

Made from "locally available raw materials", accelerant said to aid "quick building operations."

Three months after a Pyongyang building collapsed due to haphazard construction techniques, North Korean media have announced the development of a new concrete hardening acceleration agent.

The accelerating agent, which can simultaneously reduce concrete setting times while increasing building strength up to three times, has proven effective in dam and housing construction, a report published by state media outlet the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Thursday.
