Measles outbreak confirmed in North Korea

Outbreak confirmed, but no request for UNICEF assistance

A measles measles outbreak in North Korea was confirmed by UNICEF, an email from Asia division spokesperson Christopher de Bono to the Voice of America said on Thursday.

North Korean authorities told UNICEF that a measles outbreak had been detected, Bono said, but North Korea is yet to request support from the UN Children's wellbeing agency to treat the measles outbreak.
