The Korean Buddhist Jogye Order met the Buddhist Federation of North Korea Sunday on Mt. Geumgang, expressing hope for reunification through prayers and speeches.
The two groups were meeting on the occasion of the 70th nirvana anniversary of the Korean Buddhist Manhae. While the groups meet annually at the Buddhist temple Singye-sa for “The Homeland Reunification Prayer Joint Buddhist Ceremony,” the Yonhap News Agency reported that this was their first joint gathering for the Manhae commemoration.
