Russia, China express hopes for six party talks in official statement

The two countries sign joint statement saying that there is "no room for scenarios of force" on the Korean Peninsula

Russia and China issued a joint statement on Tuesday expressing their hopes for renewed efforts to resume six-party negotiations, peace on the Korean Peninsula and voicing concern over the lack of a resolution over the nuclear issue, according to the Russian news agency Interfax.

The statement was signed during high-level bilateral talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Shanghai, amidst The Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (Cica).
