North Korean state media has hammered South Korean President Park Geun-hye over her handling of cultural treasures recently returned from the United States.
During a two-day visit to Seoul last week, U.S. President Barack Obama returned nine seals originating on the Korean Peninsula. The seals, whose origins were recently discovered in San Diego, date back to the Joseon Dynasty, which ruled Korea from the 14th century, and the Daehan Empire, a short-lived name for the kingdom in the early 20th-century prior to its annexation by the Empire of Japan.
