Densely populated S. Korea makes military defense difficult – expert

Nuclear-armed, fully staffed North Korean military should not be taken lightly, defense strategist says

There are many things South Koreans need to be concerned about if, one day, it turns out North Korea isn’t bluffing.

One of those things, an expert said, is geography. Specifically, South Korea is a small, densely packed country where half the population lives in Seoul and the surrounding area. This area is within range of the North’s artillery, and this makes defense strategizing difficult.
