North denounces Dresden speech, Park

Pyongyang has insulted S. Korean president's gender in the past

North Korea has responded to South Korean President Park Geun-hye’s unification plan, the so-called Dresden Doctrine by calling it “junk” and using gender-specific insults for Park.

The North described the Dresden Doctrine, which Park outlined Friday during a visit to Germany, as “bits of useless junk scrapped together.” In her speech, Park had promised that, should the North choose to denuclearize, international development funds for the North’s economy would be made available and that Seoul would work toward a northeast Asia Peace and Cooperation initiative for the purpose of resolving security issues.
