S. Korea offers to help North over foot and mouth disease outbreak

South Korea offers disinfectants and preventative medicines to help contain outbreak of FMD

The South Korean government announced on Monday that it is willing to provide disinfectants and preventative medicines to North Korea to help contain an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) recently declared to have broken out there.

A government official told reporters that Seoul had informed Pyongyang that it was willing to provide humanitarian and technical assistance to help contain the spread of the disease in North Korea.
