U.S. Korean War vet detained in N. Korea makes apology

Korean War veteran shown making written and video apology

Detained Korean War veteran Merill Newman has apologized for crimes committed against North Korea during the Korean War, state media outlet the Korea Central News Agency reported Saturday.

The apology, marked November 9, did not indicate where Newman is currently being detained or provide any further information about the outcome of his statement – recorded on video by North Korean media.
