Myunghee Bae, the mother of detained Korean-American missionary and tour guide Kenneth Bae, said that her son’s health is “not that bad” after meeting her son in Pyongyang on Friday.

Speaking to Kyodo reporters after the visit, Ms. Bae said that she met her son at a hospital and that “he seems alright.”

“He said he isn’t in the best shape but he got much better” she said, referring to the illnesses he has reportedly been suffering from since being incaracerated by North Korean authorities in November 2012.
