LONDON – North Korea has passed a law on setting up more economic development zones, state media outlet the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) announced on Wednesday.

The May 29 law could lead to the development of new special economic zones across North Korea, designed to attract foreign investement in a variety of industrial sectors.

“Foreign corporate bodies, individuals and economic organizations and overseas Koreans can invest in the economic development zones and also set up businesses, branches and offices and conduct free economic activities,” the KCNA said.
