LONDON - North Korea has ignored two cross-border telephone calls made by South Korea, one day after Pyongyang's negotiators cancelled what would have been the first government-to-government talks in six years.
“We made an opening call at 9:00 a.m. (local time)...But the North did not answer,” South Korea's Ministry of Unification said in a brief press statement Wednesday. A further attempt to call the northern side at 4:00 p.m. (local time) was also ignored, the ministry added.
