North Korean ballistic missile launch appears to end in failure: ROK military

Launch comes hours after DPRK sent more trash balloons and after US aircraft carrier arrived in South Korea

North Korea fired an unidentified ballistic missile toward the East Sea (Sea of Japan) on Wednesday morning, according to South Korea’s military, but the launch appeared to end in failure.

Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said the DPRK launched the missile from the Pyongyang area around 5:30 a.m. and that the missile subsequently appeared to fail.
