UN sanctions monitors conclude North Korean ballistic missile struck Ukraine

Three members of Panel of Experts share findings on Jan. 2 attack after visiting Ukraine to inspect debris

U.N. experts have confirmed that a North Korean ballistic missile hit the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv earlier this year after traveling to the country to inspect the debris from the attack.

Three U.N. members of the Panel of Experts on North Korea visited Ukraine in April to conduct their investigation and concluded that the projectile used in the Jan. 2 strike was a DPRK-made Hwasong-11 series short-range ballistic missile, two informed U.N. sources told NK News on Tuesday.
