How the Pyeongchang Olympics could impact inter-Korean relations

In panel discussion, four experts discuss potential impact of 2018 Olympics on North-South dialogue

The 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics are South Korea's first in three decades, but so far they haven't attracted much interest from the public. Worse yet, the event's image has been tainted by a nation-wide scandal concerning the relationship of the now-impeached former President Park Geun-hye with her close friend and confidant Choi Soon-sil.

But Gangwon Province - which is hosting the event - and the game's organizing committee are trying hard to revitalize the public's interest in the Olympics. North Korea's participation is thought to potentially be something that could galvanize interest, as it was with the 2014 Asian Games.
