North Korea is pushing to equip houses in the DPRK with light-emitting diode (LED) lamps, state media the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) said on Monday.

LED technology, which provides significant longevity and efficiency advantages over standard bulbs, will become North Korea’s future national lighting standard, the KCNA said.

An increasing number of LED lamps have already been fitted to households and public buildings in the DPRK, and the technology has already been installed at many hotels and offices, the KCNA said.
