North Korean human rights film festival starts in Toronto

Future editions of Jayu may feature films on human rights in additional countries

Now in its second year, North America’s first North Korean human rights film festival has rebranded, and set broader goals.

Jayu’s Human Rights Film Festival is a new name (previously it was North Korean Human Rights Film Festival) for the event, currently under way until Sunday in Toronto. Organizers now say that films about human rights issues in a variety of countries may be considered in future events.
